Information held on the database complies with the eight, good practice principles of the Data Protection Act 1988, as detailed below. Information will be:
• Fairly and lawfully processed
• Processed for limited purposes
• Adequate, relevant and not excessive
• Accurate and up to date
• Not kept for longer than is necessary
• Processed in line with individuals' rights
• Secure
• Not transferred to other countries without adequate protection
In addition:
• Key-holders must agree to their telephone numbers being used on the database.
• Telephone numbers will not be given to anyone, except the Emergency Services and that will be protected by passwords.
• The numbers will only be used for the reasons stated.
